Brussels

Fermentation, mushrooms, family brewery & vegan fine dining

Bruxelles, Ma Belle.

But apart from the Royal Palace, The Grand Place and the Manneken-Pis statue Brussels is unknown territory to many. We like to show you the capital from a different angle. We find out all there is to know about fermentation, mushrooms, Gueuze beer and vegan cooking. Your guide stays far away from the touristic routes and shares a glimpse behind the scenes of this mysterious metropolis.

Route description

We start from the city centre. In the morning we get an initiation into the wondrous – and hip – world of fermentation (1) in a Brussels meadow.

From there we ride along the canals all the way to Anderlecht for a visit to an underground mushroom and urban farm (2) situated in the Cureghem Cellars. Depending on the group size we have lunch here or in a nearby eatery.

In the afternoon we continue our tour to a family brewery (3) specialised in spontaneous fermentation beers (Gueuze-Lambic).

After some beer tasting we put on a final sprint to Elsene where we discover everything about sustainable gastronomy and botanical cocktails in a high-end vegan restaurant (4).
