Singapore: direct from Brussels to Lion City

We were invited by the tourism department of Singapore for a lunch & learn session on the destination and how it can be of interest to MICE.

Singapore, the pearl of Asia

For me, a destination I know only as a hub for Singapore Airlines but after this intimate session, I am curious to see more.

First, it is important to note that Singapore Airlines will soon launch non-stop flights from Brussels to Singapore with a frequency of 4 times a week and that with good hours: arrival day 1 in the morning and return on day 4 in the evening.

Then the city itself: modern and tradition run interchangeably (which is more difficult to say of that antithesis in the Middle East).

From Chinatown to Little India to Marina Bay; all possible within walking distance

Of course, there are some fun ways to visit the city (think sidecars) but definitely don't forget the excellent public transportation not.

For food, you can indulge here; Singapore can count on more than 50 Michelin stars, but also to streetfood to taste, you have come to the right place. The "hawkers" (food courts with affordable, high-quality dishes) are plentiful and put you in the right mood.

Finding Nearby some islands that are worth visiting for a day trip. Sentosa (south of the city) is 15 (!) minutes away (accessible by burg), for Pulau Ubin we have to drive 20 minutes and take the boat for 15 minutes: the distances are plausible.

Wanting to spend the night elsewhere, we choose Bintan Island, an hour away by boat.

Going totally loco, we can still take a flight to neighboring Malaysia, where Langkawi is the best option.

A surprising choice for a modern encounter with Asia.
