One of our inspiring partners in this is Go Ocean, a Belgian start-up with a big mission: to restore marine ecosystems worldwide.
The ocean as an ally
Go Ocean works to restore coastlines and ocean habitats to strengthen the resilience of our oceans to threats such as climate change. One of their supported projects is Seawilding in Scotland - an initiative focused on restoring seagrass beds, essential for biodiversity and carbon storage.
And because we believe that real impact only comes in when you see it with your own eyes, we developed a unique, sustainable trip to this special project with Go Ocean.
Travel with us to Seawilding - Oct. 3 to 6
We leave on friday, october 3 by Eurostar towards London. There we will visit an organization dedicated to cleaning up the Thames, and get some free time to explore the city at your own pace. After dinner, we board the Caledonian Sleeper, the night train towards Glasgow. No ordinary compartment: you sleep in your own comfortable cabin.
The next morning we arrive in Glasgow and travel on to Loch Craignish, home of Seawilding. There we will immerse ourselves in the world of seagrass restoration and local conservation. In the evening, we enjoy dinner and overnight in a charming hotel overlooking the water.
Retrieved from day three we stay in the region and visit two other exciting nature projects: HAWO and the Knapdale Beavers Project - where you can spot beavers actively contributing to the restoration of their ecosystem. Later that day we return to Glasgow, where another overnight train takes us back to London.
After a rocking night on the trail, we'll end our trip in style with a bike tour of London and a funky high tea. Then the Eurostar takes us back to Brussels in comfort.
